The white calvus display beautiful ink dots on the body, dorsal, and caudal fins. Calvus are one of the slowest growing fish in the world, reaching sexual maturity in about 3 years. From an egg it takes approximately 8-12 months to reach 1.5". Calvus have a mild temperament and are only aggressive with conspecifics during breeding and protecting fry. A tank with cracks and crevices is necessary for them to hide and lay eggs in. Calvus fit well in a community tank and popular tankmates include Cyphotilapia frontosa.
